Canadian exhibition tour

Time for a sneak preview of this year's team.

Vermont officially announced the details of their Canadian exhibition tour. They will be in Canada from August 12th-14th and will play 3 games. The NCAA allows teams to go on a foreign tour every 4 years and this will be the third time Vermont has participated (2014, 2018). It is a very cool opportunity to see the team in its early stages and get to know the new players. I highly suggest heading up for a game. I will be making it a Montreal weekend with the family and will provide coverage of each game. The Friday night game is at 8pm at College Jean-de-Brebeuf against Concordia and the weekend games are both at 2 pm against McGill and UQAM respectively. This is such a valuable experience for the players and especially with a young team gives the Cats an opportunity to get some early run in game situations. During the last tour I distinctly remember seeing Isaiah Powell, Ryan Davis, and Robin Duncan for the first time and coming away giddy with excitement about their potential. What a great way to satisfy the college basketball craving over the summer.

  4. Are they streaming any of these games?

What's your projected starting line up? I'd be surprised if Robin is not starting. Becker says this is "his team."

    My starting 5:

    Penn
    Finn
    Robin
    Deloney
    Perry

Nick and Cam, first two off bench.

    1. It does not look like the games will be streaming. The starters that are locked in to me are Sullivan, Penn, and Fiorillo. Perry Smith Jr certainly has an inside track to start at the 5. I think Deloney is likely to be a starter as well based on his scoring ability. The trick with Robin is that having such an experienced point guard off the bench means there is no dropoff between units. Especially early on there is going to be some shuffling of starters for sure. Even is Robin comes off the bench he will play starters minutes.

    1. Similar to the preseason exhibition games/non D1 games. They will likely be blowouts.

  6. I had Robin assuming Mazzulla's role from last season.
